Academic leadership & service
Research communities depend on researchers contributing time, judgment and leadership. My service includes conference organization, programme responsibilities, professional societies, reviewing and community initiatives.
International development & public-interest technology
Since 2016, I have worked as an external consultant on international development-cooperation projects funded by the World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB/BID), and the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID). My work has connected data, digital systems and public-sector decision making in implementation-oriented development settings.
Through initiatives including SIASAR and SANIHUB, my contributions have included information systems, data-analysis models, indicator generation, service monitoring, and planning-support tools. This work reflects an important part of my professional identity: using technical expertise not only to publish new methods, but also to strengthen the systems through which institutions understand needs and make decisions.
Scientific outreach
Scientific knowledge should be accessible beyond specialist communities. I participate in public science events, educational activities and general-audience talks that make AI and scientific research easier to understand and discuss.
These are selected examples rather than a complete archive. The aim is to show how public engagement complements research, teaching and academic service without turning this page into a chronological list of appearances.
Media & public engagement
Interviews, radio, podcasts and public-facing articles provide another way to circulate knowledge and connect research with the questions people care about.
NGOs & community involvement
I have also collaborated with NGOs including the Red Cross and Engineers Without Borders. These experiences reinforce the same principle that shapes my academic work: opportunity creates responsibility, and knowledge becomes more valuable when it can circulate beyond the institutions in which it was created.
Innovation & technology transfer
I collaborate with public institutions and companies to move AI research toward practical use. I am also co-founder and scientific advisor of AIDOS, connecting academic expertise with deep-tech innovation.
The principle behind the work
Opportunity creates responsibility. The opportunities I have received through education, research and international collaboration motivate me to create opportunities for others and to contribute back to the institutions and communities that make academic work possible.
